Julia 1.0 is the stable release. Also, the packages in Julia do not compile with the current release (v0.7) in the repo.

Not going into the repo yet, consistently fails to build on the build server. I'm going to re-open this and evaluate it when we go to LLVM 7.

Julia 1.1 was released a week ago: https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia/releases/download/v1.1.0/julia-1.1.0.tar.gz, maybe this will improve build on the server.
