Increase volume control
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

When using a keyboard to change the volume, the jumps in volume are too long. Having much finer steps is a possible solution.
This is likely a problem on all devices with a larger volume range, especially when using any kind of amplifier.

Audio Hardware: USB DAC (AudioQuest Dragonfly) with an integrated amplifier.

This is a deficiency in gnome-settings-daemon that should ideally be resolved upstream with GNOME, it's just not viable in my opinion for us to carry and maintain a patch, as well as integrate it in the appropriate places.

Thank you for the helpful feedback. I've filed an issue over there.

@Timalex Thanks for filing the upstream task, hopefully it's something they'll approve of and implement so everyone (and not just Solus) can benefit ?

Apparently it is possible to have more fine-grained control, by holding the shift key while adjusting the volume. I personally would prefer the fine-grained control to be the default behavior, alternatively there is an issue of discoverability.
