Godot (any version) mess up environment when open
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hello there,

After today's updates (which none include anything related to Godot I guess) whenever (and every time) I open Godot, and no matter the version, I tested many (from official supported by SoluOS software center, 2.1.4, to 3.0.0 ,3.0.2, 3.0.4, nightly 3.1) all my environment gets messed up. The symptoms are:

  • Mouse sensitivity slows down (when closed it goes back to normal) it seems like it drops from 3000 dpi to 2000
  • (I will say it but I'll probably describe it wrong) Every GTK related mouse event needs many extra clicks, e.g.: minimize window, maximize, close, select a file (both within Godot builtin system and Nautilus)
  • Weird keyboard randomness, e.g. after pressing a key the keyboard freezes and the key behaves like it is being hold (lots of entries for the same key) until spacebar or esc is pressed
  • Gnome activities flickering

And some other minor strange behaviors, all the above behaviors happen only when Godot is running, after closing it everything goes back to normal.

I'm also reporting this to Godot issue tracker, maybe we can make a team effort to solve this :D

This is kinda weird since the sync hasn't occured yet !

Could you check your latest updates with eopkg hs and eventually takeback to the operation preceeding the update to test ?

PS: There is no SolusOS, it's just Solus.

Hehe, sorry. I'm very, veeeery noob, I'll need some guidance on that, so, I just did the eopkg hs what should I do now? :c

I don't see anything used by godot there. You can revert the last updates to give a try if you want with sudo eopkg hs -t146 but I fear it won't help.

Yeah, like I thought I don't think it was the actual updates...Gotta try the suggestion, shutdown and see what I get

Hey @kyrios123 I think this wasn't the actual last commit(?) of the update, this was something I did after the update (but the bug was happening before). I just did this, restarted and now everything seems to be working again. Is this packge related to Godot somehow?

No, those aren't related to Godot. Considering the issue hasn't persisted for you, marking as resolved.

I took the freedom to reopen this issue, because it suddenly reappeared after yesterday's update, and it persists with the same symptoms.

Closing. If the issue persists with Godot 3 after our Friday sync, file it at T6778
