Recently I download Solus and thanks for your effort it's really awesome..
I just downloaded visual studio code and I noticed that it's differ from the official once..
I don't know the reason why it differ, and the version is the same what I compared with from the official vscode website.
The package vscode contains a build from sources of the open source version of Visual Studio Code, not the official, closed-source zipped distribution by Microsoft.
Check for update button not available.
You don't need it if you are getting the package from the repository, updating via eopkg is sufficient.
