Firefox when dealing with redirects can stop redirecting, goof up, and need one to click on the url bar and hit enter to force it to continue
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

This is a problem when using DuckDuckGo, as I often use it to search, but in particular to search other sites, like Google, by doing "!g <input>." The problem is unlike Windows, it'll just stop and say "can't connect to Google," and I then have to go to the url bar and hit enter. Doesn't happen on Firefox on Windows, nor do I remember (as with the other issues I reported about Firefox) this happening with the Snap version, looking to be more how the Solus build is generated or whatever.

Event Timeline

One thing for sure, despite deactivating hardware acceleration, this problem still happens. Likely a build problem.

How can one reproduce this?

Set DuckDuckGo as the default, then search Google with DuckDuckGo by typing "!g <query>" in the url/search bar. Try ones with spaces in the query, I think that's what sets it off. It doesn't happen every time, but sometimes it'll happen, for no good reason.

Well what's the search term most likely to reproduce it, as I am unable to

I'm not certain, as it doesn't always happen, but a query with spaces is more likely to cause a problem.

Basically just search randomly. Try anything and try it multiple times.

I can't reproduce the issue too. Can you start firefox with clean profile and try reproduce the issue?

Alright.

BTW, sorry for the huge delay, I haven't been using the PC in a while.
