LVM Encryption Install broken in Plasma ISO
Open, HighPublic

I downloaded the latest plasma ISO from patreon (slightly less broken). I installed as normal, wiping the entire drive and selected the LVM encyption option during install. When I restarted the system wouldn't boot.

I tried again using legacy instead of UEFI and the same thing happened but instead of booting it went to grub rescue. I tried to access the hdd but it couldn't recognise the filesystem of the encrypted drive.

I then tried to install using UEFI again but with no encryption and everything went fine, it booted into Solus Plasma.

Is this still an issue with the latest ISO? I have successfully installed EFI full encryption via qemu with it.

Not sure if it's the same problem but here's what I have tested:

Installation of Solus Plasma with latest testing ISO:

  • installation to internal disk with encryption in bios mode: OK
  • installation to external usb disk without encryption in bios mode : OK
  • installation to external usb disk with encryption in bios mode : failed at lvm encrypted partition creation

I have successfully installed Solus Budgie (v3 ISO) in the past on an external USB drive with encryption.
