Stuck at suspend or shutdown
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

When I click shutdown, Solus freezes and I'm force to power-off the computer. It does not happens when I boot and then shutdown directly, it happens when I use my laptop for a longer period of time. Also, if I try to execute suspend in a terminal, it does nothing and I'm not able to cancel it ctrl-c. I'm sure you need more details, but I'm not sure what to provide.

Thanks

I found this so I think it's a hardware problem. I manage to solve it by adding nouveau.modeset=0 into /etc/kernel/cmdline and updating clr-boot-manager.

Is this still an issue against latest kernel? Any specific reason for not using proprietary drivers?

Hi, I just wanted to second that I am also having this problem, though a little specifically/strangely.

I've tried both the proprietary Nvidia drivers (same problem, freeze on shutdown/suspend), and nouveau.modeset=0 (doesn't load Xorg at all, and still doesn't shut down).

I have a MacBook 5,1.

Strange thing is it's fine if I install from 3.9999 ISO, but not from the 4 ISO. (So I'm going to reinstall now from the previous version.)

Hopefully that's a little helpful (sorry if not).
