Why include in the repositories? There are no alternatives in the repositories, I only found a proprietary counterpart called Xeoma that has a Linux executable, but it is not free nor open-source. ZoneMinder seems like a great open-source alternative and since I'd like to have a free version of a software to access my IP Cam I'd like to ask developers to package it into Solus repositories.
Is it open source? Yes it is.

This is pretty cool software. Very easy to get working, but a little involved to install. It’s developed on Fedora so there’s a fair amount of support for the install there. And ZoneMinder has it’s own 16.04 Lubuntu distro they offer which is pretty smooth if you follow the readme. Would be great to see Solus offer a package installation.

As this task has been marked Needs Maintainer for a month with nobody having stepped up to become maintainer, in addition to providing an acceptable patch for inclusion, marking as WONTFIX. Feel free to re-open when a patch has been submitted via the proper processes.
