  1. I checked with the developer via https://github.com/linode/python-linode-api/issues/89
  2. I run a Streisand server on a Linode VPS and this package is required on the local machine. If ineligible, the older package would also work I think: https://github.com/tjfontaine/linode-python

As this task has been marked Needs Maintainer for a month with nobody having stepped up to become maintainer, in addition to providing an acceptable patch for inclusion, marking as WONTFIX. Feel free to re-open when a patch has been submitted via the proper processes.
