Need to package AMDGPU Pro Driver
Closed, SpitePublic

Description

We'll need the AMDGPU Pro Driver available with the launch of Solus 1.2.1 - and integrated immediately into DoFlickey.

TL;DR Its blocked by T54: Missing support for some SKL, NVIDIA, AMDGPU, etc with the Linux 4.7.0 update, and in turn blocks T19: Solus 1.2.1 (Meta Task)

I have recently bought the AMD RX 460 GPU. Out of the box the Solus is using the new AMDGPU drivers if I'm not mistaken, right? For me they have a very bad performance compared to drivers on Windows. Screen flickering, Youtube video frame dropping, bad FPS performance in Linux friendly games (Left4Dead 2, The Talos Principle).

I'm not posting this to complain, only to ask if there is any way I can help with this issue? I'm not exactly advanced Linux user, but I do have the hardware which I can help test.

I think you should create a new task instead of replying here.

Not going to be a blocker for 1.2.1 now.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/gpu-pro-eula is absolutely and 100% clear: There is no way we can package this. Why am I not surprised.

Have you contacted AMD? This looks like their legal department put that in there without thinking.
