Why should this be included:
It is the most widely used viewer (read: client) for the game, SecondLife.
It would fit in nicely within the gaming category in the software center.

I have never heard of Alchemy Viewer before. Looking at both source code commits, it seems Alchemy hasn't been updated since last year in November. Firestorm appears to have more frequent commits to the code (4 days ago as of this comment). I believe Firestorm has a larger userbase on all platforms combined (Win/Mac/Linux). Additionally, the comments on the release entry on the Alchemy blog report several issues including problems with rendering and voice; on the Linux client. The latest release entry on the Firestorm blog doesn't seem to have any users commenting on any issues and there even seems to be a Linux discussion in the midst of the comments.

TLDR; Firestorm has a more up-to-date client release over Alchemy as well as less user reported bugs on the Linux client side in comparison to Alchemy.

As this task has been marked Needs Maintainer for a month with nobody having stepped up to become maintainer, in addition to providing an acceptable patch for inclusion, marking as WONTFIX. Feel free to re-open when a patch has been submitted via the proper processes.

I'm interested in using Firestorm on Solus. The Alchemy Viewer didn't show any Linux downloads. Can someone more proficient check whether it would build on Linux or whether Firestorm should be preferred?
