I would love to be able to run plex media server on Solus. I think it would be an amazing addition.

Doesn't quite work yet (a few tweaks to the configuration as the setup fails), but would be keen for someone to test once I sort it out.
Ok, to test this for me you need to run these three commands. The 3rd is only needed so you don't have to reboot before being able to use it.
sudo eopkg bi --ignore-safety https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sunnyflunk/3rd-party/plex/multimedia/video/plexmediaserver/pspec.xml sudo eopkg install plexmediaserver-*.eopkg && sudo rm plexmediaserver-*.eopkg sudo systemd-tmpfiles --create
To remove fully, uninstall and remove /var/lib/plexmediaserver. I've ripped out their systemd scripts and replaced them with ones that will currently work.
It is designed to run as a systemd service. From there you can start/stop/enable/disable the service with systemctl and manage it with Plex Media Manager in the menu. Will have to enable the service to have it autostart on boot
sudo systemctl start plexmediaserver.service
Two points of contention:
- there is no start_pms as it was in /usr/sbin which is idiotic to run as root
- need to check my tmpfile.d won't delete the dir in future (I couldn't get it to so far)
Everything went off without a hitch and I am casting to my chromecast as we speak. It's swimming along nicely. No hiccups so far. :)
Merged into 3rd Party, thanks @sunnyflunk for the fixes. There's also a new version out which I've updated to and the 3rd Party is ready to be installed from. https://wiki.solus-project.com/3rdParty#Plex_Media_Server
