Date is in wrong format in panel
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Timezone is set to Perth, Australia, however the date time format in panel is month/day/year.

Correct zone display for Australia is day/month/year

@mate-user you can customize it yourself or report the problem upstream.

@kyrios123 it was @ProxiBlue who created the task, I just fixed a typo in the task description. And your link gives details about Mate, but the screenshot above looks like Budgie.

@kyrios123 - what do you mean 'report it upstream'? Upstream to whom? - Is this not the forum to report issues found with Solus (budgie)

is Solus intended for the more advance Linux user, and is not aimed at your average user, so someone who is not as familiar with CLI?

Considering the GUI environment from a normal user perspective, I would expect that the format of the date display to be handled via the standard Date and Time settings panel, supplied in budgie.
Just loading dconf, would scare your avarege user form using that tool:

Further, the solution provided is for mate, not budgie.

Budgie is nice, but perfection is in the details.

No. Budgie issues go to https://github.com/budgie-desktop/budgie-desktop

Just loading dconf, would scare your avarege user form using that tool:

Should report that to the dconf-tool developers over at GNOME.

Closing issue as those items should be reported to Budgie and dconf respectively.

Great, it was not clear this was not the correct forum. I will report to the budgie crew.

@ProxiBlue Cheers. fwiw, we're the lead developers of Budgie, but because it is distro agnostic we use our budgie-desktop GitHub repository for development and issue tracking =)
