Macbook Pro mid-2014; do not have another laptop to test

Closing the lid suspends the laptop fine. Opening the lid shows the lockscreen. However, if you close the lid again, it just hangs, the screen does not turn off and system is frozen (mouse doesn't even move). Need a hard reset.

Process
Solus running
close lid --> laptop suspends
open lid --> laptop on lockscreen, unlock, etc
close lid again --> laptop freezes - doesn't even go into lockscreen mouse is frozen, complete system freeze, need a hard reset to reboot

Going to the [user indicator applet] -> suspend -> comes out of suspend fine -> [user indicator applet] -> suspend -> also crashes with mouse freeze, etc

Seems like a close lid issue on the 2nd time.
