XSane is included in the repository of all major distributions for more than 15 years.
It has much more features than "Gnome Simple Scan" (powerful preview mode with area selection, color tuning, full dpi range, etc..)

Please don't submit package.yml files, that's not the right way to submit a patch for a package. Even if it was, we don't accept patches for unaccepted packages.
