ext4 errors every time I wake my laptop from sleep.

Description

When I wake my laptop (Alienware (Dell) 17 R3) from sleep, the desktop freezes and the other TTYs are showing a lot of ext4 errors and all commands don't work (I/O error).

I tried booting to a live system and doing a full fsck and it changes nothing.

asafniv@solus1337 ~ $ uname -a
Linux solus1337 4.13.11-31.current #1 SMP Thu Nov 2 20:26:59 UTC 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Happens on both linux-lts and linux-current.

Tested a fresh install, same thing!

EDIT:

  1. It works for a few seconds after sleep.
  1. One time, I could run ls /dev without getting an I/O error and the SSD didn't show up in there.


And that's an NVME SSD btw

Fixed by adding acpiphp.disable=1 kernel parameter.

on Solus, run:

sudo su
mkdir -p /etc/kernel
echo "acpiphp.disable=1" >> /etc/kernel/cmdline
sudo clr-boot-manager update

Looks like it's fixed on new kernels.
