Seriously, though. Eclipse needs to be build from source and installed in /usr, not /opt
I don't know if it even humanly possible :p
Eclipse is composed of tens of sub-modules, and it's just for the core. Even after that, you have a tons of plugins to compile and implement.

It is a rather popular software and will be certainly useful to many people
We should try to avoid half-arsing things, imo. If we end up with a third-party package with a view to providing a native package we then need to consider migration paths too.
@ikey beat me to it. Third-Party is for closed source or non-redistributable software. Is Eclipse a pain in the butt to build? you bet. But it's also really easy to download and unpack if you need it locally.
