HP Chromebook 14 suspend/shutdown issue

Description

Fresh and update installation of Solus 1.2 on HP Chromebook 14 has the following issues. After suspending once, the laptop will not go in suspend state the next time you try to suspend it.
Also, after suspending once the laptop is not able to shutdown, instead it gets stuck in a blank screen.
This is problably a kernel bug, since it is present on Ubuntu 14.04-16.04 as well, but there is a working fix for Ubuntu, which is not working on Solus.

sudo vim /etc/default/grub

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash  boot=local  i915.modeset=1 tpm_tis.interrupts=0 "

sudo update-grub2

Suggested in the step 5 of the link provided for the Ubuntu fix, looks like it fixes the issue.
