Transmission Remote GUI
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Name: Transmission Remote GUI

Homepage: https://github.com/leonsoft-kras/transmisson-remote-gui

Why: Transsmission Remote GUI is more actively maintained than Transmission Remote GTK. TRGTK has outstanding bugs with "Invalid Torrent File" errors when the same .torrent/magnet link works through the web interface or TRGUI.

Last TRGUI release: 2017.09.15
Last TRGTK release: 2016.08.12

Also, TRGUI has a useful local path mapping feature, so you can do things like right click on a torrent and 'open containing folder', or browse to a download location and it will translate the path correctly for the remote server.

Event Timeline

@willgfx I tried manually installing transgui to see if it handled magnet files better than transmission-remote-gtk does. From the terminal, transgui <magnet-link>does work as expected, but after setting everything up with xdg-open, neither clicking magnet links in a web browser or xdg-open <magnet-link> work.
They launch transgui but do not begin downloading the magnet link. For reference, here's my transgui.desktop

[Desktop Entry]

Do you have a configuration that works with magnet links and xdg-open?
