I've noticed that every once in a while (an hour or less) I have random internet drops without any prior notice. I'm hardwired to the computer I'm using Solus Budgie on. My Wifi seems to working just fine during that time. The Ethernet network icon in the system tray would show that it is connected but I don't have any internet connectivity. The only solution is to 'Disconnect' and reconnect and then everything works normally. I'm 90% sure this is something to do with the operating system. Any thoughts on how I can diagnose this further to pinpoint the problem?

Just wanted to give an update. The problem persists. At the end of first hour after starting the computer to Solus desktop (I'm using Budgie), my hard-wired internet connection stops working. After performing the steps mentioned above to reconnect I don't have any further internet connectivity problems. Anyone else has this issue?
Same problem here as well. Noticed first after 11/11/17 updates. Running linux-current kernel.

Thanks
I've noticed the same problems (when using a wired connection), but thought it may be related to my own internet provider. Not sure how to check this further.
Same issue with wireless on my laptop. Only just installed updates after about 2-3 weeks of not using the machine.
Is this still an issue? If so, please provide an lspci and let us know which kernel you are currently using.
I am not the OP but I am having the same problem with Killer wifi, same happens even if I tether internet from my phone via USB
Dell XPS 13 9370 02:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter (rev 32) 4.15.17-65.current
Exactly same symptoms, everything is fine until I suddenly lose internet while Wifi icon and wifi connection show all is well and connected. The only way is to disconnect and connect again.
Sorry, I'm currently not using Solus and do not have a hard wired connection to check if the problem still exists. Thanks.
Having the same issue with my wifi on my laptop. usually happens once every couple of hours:
Acer Aspire VN7-572G 03:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter (rev 32) 4.15.18-67.current
Closing as this is an upstream kernel issue.

RT5370 may already be resolved, didn't see anything in upstream. I'd suggest people check https://bugzilla.kernel.org/ and file issues there.
