Description

Hello,

Solus UI performs really slow and it looks like hardware acceleration doesn't work. For example, this is very noticeable in web browser and Krita.

Is there any way to resolve this issue?

Event Timeline

I have nearly identical hardware and while it doesn't feel snappy by any means, I expect that given the age of the device and the fact using GNOME. However, I do have hardware acceleration, and you can validate it by running glxinfo | grep "direct rendering"

My device: HP Pavilion dv6z-6c00 "Quad Edition" with an AMD A6-3420M and an AMD Radeon HD 6520G

You could try switching to linux-lts but I don't expect that to help any. Alternatively, try using Solus Budgie (documentation for switching is available here, it's considerably lighter weight than GNOME Shell is.
