Name of the software: Kile

Project/product Homepage:

Why we should include this into the repository, i.e. what does it do that the alternatives do not? Yes, there are alternatives in Solus, as Texlive and Latexila, but Kile is the best. I use latex for my daily research and Kile is the only one full e complete of resources. There is a lack of maintenance for Latexila, is incomplete.

Is it open source? Sure.

If it is open source, please provide a link to the most up to date, versioned source tarball/zipfile. links will not be accepted. or

If there are no upstream releases but the inclusion policy is otherwise met, please provide a link to the source repository (i.e. GitHub)

Thank you!

They've had a sufficient amount of time to ship a KF5-supported release, and they've only had two commits in the months since their last RC, which doesn't put them on a good trajectory for a non-RC release. Marking as WONTFIX.

I'm not familiar with Phabricator so forgive me if I'm not following convention. This issue was closed over a year and half ago and kile is the only package preventing me from using Solus as my daily driver. I'm currently reading the docs in order to attempt to build the package myself.

They've had years to put out a KF5-supported stable release at this point, they haven't. Regardless of whether or not you need it, my comment from almost two years ago is still accurate, which says a lot about that project. It would be dead-on-arrival.
