Description

Name : JWM(joe`s window manager)

Homepage: https://joewing.net/projects/jwm/

why: well jwm is a featherweight window manager popular in lightweight destributions such as puppylinux debianDog and others it is known to be extremely easy to use unlike i3 (personal opinion) and as it does already come with a task bar it does not need tint2 for that functionality it is easier to configure than awesomeWM and it is very simple to work with great for the power user and the simple user alike most distros like debian ,OpenSuse ,Fedora ,mangeia ,slackware and arch have it in they`re repositories (manjaro even has a community edition) and it would be great to have it on solus as despite the fact that all the the desktop environments provided are beautiful and very well integrated and that i3 is available something more lightweight than de DEs easier to use and more customisable than i3 would be nice

is it open source ? : yes it is it follows the MIT license
https://joewing.net/projects/jwm/license.shtml ( license on site)

tarball link : https://joewing.net/projects/jwm/releases/jwm-2.3.7.tar.xz

github link : https://github.com/joewing/jwm

how many people who will use this : not many but i will surely use it and some more advanced users might enjoyed for its lack of weight and usability

observation:sorry for bad construction of sentences i have brain damage and i am not very good in writing (not even in my own language)

We already have:

  • bspwm
  • i3
  • xmonad

All of those provide some sort of menu system, or support for one (like dmenu). That's not a particular selling point. What does this offer that our existing offerings don't?
