Package Request Network UPS Tools
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

Name: Network UPS Tools (Nut server and Client for Uninterruptible Power Supply )
Homepage: http://www.networkupstools.org
Why: So one can monitor/shut down gracefully in the event of a power failure. Currently operational on Linux Mint.
Open Source: Yes
http://www.networkupstools.org/source/2.7/nut-2.7.4.tar.gz

I looked at compiling this but I found the instructions too complicated.
Many references to Init.d so don't know how that translates to systemd. I am very new to Solus so there is much to learn.
I really love Solus and would like to make it my daily driver.

Thanks.

Event Timeline

I'll second this request, nut is easy to configure and very useful for those with ups setups.

Cheers :)

This is not to be landed until the next release is out. 2.7.4 was 2 years ago.

Hasn't seen a new release in over a year.

It appears that this software is active nowadays, with the latest version, 2.8.0 having been released on April 22, 2022, and the latest commit to master being 5 hours ago (and I can see that it was certainly active during the past few months).

@hubris And this sentence in in response to an ancient comment by a user who seems to not have been active for the past few years, however NUT is also pretty much the only way I can currently see to monitor some UPSs, like the one I had recently purchased (although it is not officially supported, it probably uses the same method as the other UPSs from the same brand, Advice).
