HandBrake doesn't show maximize button and licensing issues
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

I just launched HandBrake and noticed that it doesn't show the maximize button.

The default window size also doesn't fit on my screen and there is no way for me to adjust its screen size manually to work with the programme.

The look of the programme doesn't look as nice as indicated on the screenshots on https://handbrake.fr/features.php. I am not sure if there is any way to make it look better and thereby improve its usability.

Lastly, I am not sure whether the current licenses are correct. On https://handbrake.fr/features.php it says that portions of it are covered under the BSD 3 Clause which is not yet indicated in the software center.

It does.

This is an upstream issue. It appears to force a minimum window size.

The look of the programme doesn't look as nice as indicated on the screenshots on https://handbrake.fr/features.php.

Yes and those screenshots also look incredibly out of date or potentially not even on Linux.

Lastly, I am not sure whether the current licenses are correct.

They are. They're referencing libraries like libtheora on the page you're referring to.

Ah, my bad. Had these screen size issues several times already but don't want to retire the old Thinkpad yet.
