Why: This would solve T3694 and enable support for my HP P1008. @kyrios123 has kindly pointed me to this site. The configuration instructions are quite complicated and I am not too experienced with it. By adding this package you'd also add support for the following models: P1005, P1006, P1007, P1008, P1505, P1505n, P2014, P2014n, M1005 MFP, M1120 MFP, M1212nf MFP.

I suppose this should be accepted since T3694 is accepted?

The alternative is the binary plugin for hplip but these cannot be distributed via the main repo because

These binary plug-ins require the user to read and agree to a license agreement at the time of driver installation

Any updates about this one? I already have two printers in China that could be enabled with this package.
