Changing to TTY1 makes Gnome crash
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Changing to TT1-7 makes Solus Gnome crash.

Ctrl+Alt+F1 gives me a black screen. Ctr+Alt+F7 doesn't return me to the graphical session. Videos in the background continues to play. Can only be solved through resetting the PC.

Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F7 freezes the screen. I can see the cursor disappear, everything else freezes. Changing to TTY is not possible. I have to reset PC.

This happens every time. (not happening with Solus Budgie in a previous installation on the same PC). This installation is two days old, updated and not messed with so pretty much default.

Event Timeline

Unable to reproduce. Switched to a TTY, switched back to GNOME using ctrl+alt+f2 (not f7, that presents you with GDM separately). So sounds like you're switching to the wrong TTY.

I tried to switch to all different TTYs. I am sure that i pressed ctrl+alt+F2. Doesn't work in my Solus Gnome installation :/

Workaround is Budgie, which has no problems switching to TTY and back at all.
