Open Source: yes
Description: The Nitrokey App is required for Nitrokey Pro and Nitrokey Storage, two advanced models of the Nitrokey Family. Nitrokey is an USB key to enable highly secure encryption and signing of emails and data, as well as login to the Web, networks and computers. Other than ordinary software solutions, the secret keys are always stored securely inside the Nitrokey. Their extraction is impossible which makes Nitrokey immune to computer viruses and Trojan horses. The user-chosen PIN and the tamper-proof smart card protect in case of loss and theft. Hardware and software are both available as Open Source to allow verifying the security and integration with other applications.
That'll be amazing. Here's a comparison chart: https://www.nitrokey.com/#comparison
Which device would you need in order to test full functionality? I would either buy the Pro or Storage version for myself as soon as it is available in the Solus repositories. If you need an actual testing device, maybe Ikey has some cash to spend to enable this for Solus :D
Otherwise I might also consider sponsoring this if the only way to get this to work properly is via a testing device.
This has sat in accepted for inclusion for almost a year now. Clearly, there is a lack of demand for the inclusion of this software, nobody has stepped up to provide a patch, maintain it, and properly integrate it. Closing as a result. Feel free to reopen but only when someone offers a patch via our proper patch submission methods and volunteers to be maintainer.
I am willing to be maintainer for this package, as I am using my Nitrokey Pro on Solus. I have submitted the package nitrokey-app and its dependencies libnitrokey, libnitrokey-devel and cppcodec-devel.
