Bitwig Studio crashes on start under 4.9.32-31 kernel
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

With fresh install of Solus Gnome (no updates, ISO kernel) Bitwig 2.0 starts and runs fine. However a USB Audio Interface needs the new 4.9.32-31 kernel in order to be recognized.

Applied updates, including kernel update. Bitwig 2.0 crashes on start (splash screen displays for a second then closes), when launched from terminal, received "//opt/bitwig-studio/lib/jre segmentation fault"

Sunnyflunk updated GitHub to point to Bitwig 2.1.1 version. Installed via Bitwig "check for updates" in Software Center, reboot, launch, crash. Reboot, launch from terminal, crash, same error.

Uninstalled, reinstalled (so ONLY version 2.1.1 should be installed) via terminal using commands found on Solus Help, received 28 warnings "missing build ID" for ".so" files, but it installed. Reboot, launch, crash.

System: Desktop, i7 2600k, 16GB, gtx 570 (did not install nvidia driver, not sure if Solus did during install, but display worked after os install so left it alone)

This needs a new version of the kernel with some upstream fixes.

Have confirmed it works with
