Canon printer driver
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Name: linux-UFRII-drv-v331-usen
Homepage: http://www.canon.ca/inetCA/en/serviceDetail?directLink=Y&mid=6371B031&type=D
Why: There is a canon-ufriilt-common driver but it is incomplete for models. This one contains the driver for MF4700.
There is a source folder inside.

Would be highly appreciated.

Event Timeline

Is there not a driver included in gutenprint? Also, if you're trying to use it over wifi, for now you'll have to type the ip in for the system to find it.

I do not see any of the models for the Canon imageClass when selecting a driver in the 'Printers' window. I was able to find the printer over the network by using the IP.

I did use the Make command in the source folder but currently having the following error when trying to use the driver:

[cups-deviced] PID 2459 (gutenprint52+usb) stopped with status 1!
CreateProfile failed: org.freedesktop.ColorManager.AlreadyExists:profile id \'Canon_MF4700_Series-Gray..\' already exists

I am guessing there is more to it when installing stuff in Solus.

I'm guessing that the Make created a driver specific to macOS. Getting these errors, looks like mac folder structure.
