Benefit over web version is direct file access.

Benefits over keepass/keepassx are mostly preference.

Manages group views differently. Tags, Colours and other features.

Easier to sync with online services (Dropbox, Google Drive)

I'm not sure I see a difference with sync between KeeWeb and using KeePass(X) with Dropbox/Insync installed. Click the save button and the file syncs to the server, right? Since there are already two KeePass applications in the repositories, I don't see the team including a third one without any large differences between feature sets.

Also... I'm not sure why one would use an electron app over a native one.

The only reason I use this one is because the font scaling is easier on the eyes on a 4k monitor

None, but you need Dropbox/Insync installed.

Yeah, I agree, probably not worth including.

If it's the repo, it's native surely?

As I'm not seeing any value add on including this over Keepass and KeepassX (leveraging the maintained KeepassXC fork), I'm rejecting inclusion of this in the repository. As we stated on our Package Inclusion Policy:

“It’s pretty” is never a sufficient reason.

Okay, let me add a couple of points.

"It's pretty" surely is part of the reason people would want this added, but not the whole story. I'd be satisfied it it wasn't for the storage integrations.

KeeWeb intregrates WebDAV, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive right into the app. There's a Dropbox client for Linux. Drive has Insync, which isn't free and AFAIK, there's no OneDrive client on Linux. Also, I don't see such an easy way to sync a KeePass database via WebDAV.

I'd like to politely ask you to reconsider the inclusion of KeeWeb. Not only does it add said value, it also looks good, scales well with HiDPI and the usage is very efficient (i.e. just type ahead anytime and it'll focus the search field and filter entries in real time).

If "it's pretty" is not a reason for inclusion, then imho "it's Electron-based and there's two (pretty similar) alternatives in the repo" shouldn't be a reason against it :P. If anyone in the dev team happens to use KeePass, I'd recommend giving KeeWeb a try, you might actually love it :)

I've been using the same keepass database for as long as I've been on the internet. The last at least 2 years of this time with KeeWeb, mostly because MacPass was abandoned and it had tags which I began to use instead of groups.

Being new to Solus I find it rather disappointing that there is no way to get this app. I get the reasoning for the most part and KeepassXC, while of course less sexy, works for me but I do miss the tags (that I now have no way to use).

I tried myself at packaging it anyway... Is there someplace I could get it reviewed - like a user repository?
