Description

Unable to start the KDevelop AppImage.

Download and setup the AppImage following the official guide (https://www.kdevelop.org/download).

wget -O KDevelop.AppImage https://download.kde.org/stable/kdevelop/5.1.1/bin/linux/KDevelop-5.1.1-x86_64.AppImage
chmod +x KDevelop.AppImage
./KDevelop.AppImage

Running ./KDevelop.AppImage stops because of the following error.

kdevelop: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libxcb-dri3.so.0: undefined symbol: xcb_send_request_with_fds

Because of this issue and the packaged version doesn't work (T3791) there is now no way to use KDevelop on Solus.

Ya, so despite what we're told, AppImage isn't as universal as we're led to believe...it relies on host libraries that have changed since AppImage was created

You would have to preload the Solus libxcb for this to be able to run most likely.
