Homepage: http://gmic.eu/gimp.shtml
Open Source: yes
Download: http://gmic.eu/files/linux/gmic_gimp_linux64.zip

G'MIC has been made available as an easy-to-use plug-in for GIMP. It extends this retouching software capabilities by offering a large number of pre-defined image filters and effects. Of course, the plug-in is highly customizable and it is possible to add your own custom G'MIC-written filters in it.

Thooomaaass created this task.

Lets build it from source though (that link is precompiled plug-in).

Need to enable Photo libs for OpenCV first.

After much investigation, this relies on files from a secondary source that is not properly tagged for us to pull from git. Without a complete source set it cannot be built. I will help someone build it if they really need to, but for now I'm closing this.

I am suggesting that this project is re-investigated. Gimp is a very useful tool but is an awesome tool with GMIC. Can the fftw dependencies not even be made available so the plugin works. I would have thought this is easy on Windows, it is wrong that it's harder on Linux. Solus needs software to work for broader adoption because it is excellent in other respects.

Don't reopen tasks.

Now Krita also have its G'MIC plugin so perhaps this task should be re-evaluated ?

And the closure predates proper ypkg git support.

@DataDrake Does that offer to help someone build this from source still stand? If not, anyone else have any tips?

Re-opening for evaluation.

With last update, G'mic doesn't work anymore. :/
Kernel: 4.15.17-64.current x86_64 Desktop: Budgie 10.4 Distro: Solus 3.999

File a new task for it then and provide some logs like what happens when you run it.

@JoshStrobl could the task be re-opened to re-evaluate the original request (inclusion in the repo) ?

@olivir Seeing as it isn't something supported in the repo, not our issue.

I installed gmic and gmic-gimp but nothing present in Gimp 2.10 :/
