Issue with R and libgfortran
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Every single time I run R I get the following message, I was not able to find anything similar on google:
/usr/lib64/R/bin/exec/R: Relink /usr/lib/libgfortran.so.3' with /usr/lib/libpthread.so.0' for IFUNC symbol `system'

This is particularly problematic in software that links to R since it keeps spamming this message every 10 sec.

Many thanks for having a look.

Nobody? Would really appreciate some help as working in R became really problematic with this. Tested on a fresh install and same happens.

So is this actually crashing, or incorrect calculation? I've not noticed any difference outside of outputting the message.

sunnyflunk claimed this task.

This is now fixed in unstable. Plus updated to 3.4.0 for the new JIT features

https://git.solus-project.com/packages/r/commit/?id=10daaa12ddf74fbe5d7cf7245b31f50faea5a15f

It requires quite a few packages from unstable, so can't just install this updated package

Thank you so much @sunnyflunk for a fast fix! It was crashing the pipeline I had set up on top of R so really appreciate this.
