QGIS requires python-qgis to install additional plugins.

Same here. If you install the qgis package the python plugins are missing. In some other distros it is provided as an extra package (python-qgis), but the plugins System is part of the main sourcode as far as I know.

From the docs:
for python support - SIP >= 4.12, PyQt >= 5.3 must match Qt version, Qscintilla2

Will check if it is the case in souls and help to fix it!
I am new to solus and willing to help! :) If this is not the proper place please let me know!

For missing these plugins i have to seach in the page of quickmapservices and discover a lot of new services unknow for my.
I recomend to look in that page https://qms.nextgis.com/ there is a lot of good stuff.

This will have to wait until the next release. The python bindings are currently broken because our libraries are too new for their latest.

@DataDrake There is a new release of QGis, I will work this out while ugrading & testing it. Could you please remove this task from the backlog ?
