update systemd >= 220
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I have started building rkt. The package is ready except for one dependency. It requires systemd-nspawn >= 220 and we are running currently 218 in stable.

Any chance to get this updated to at least 220 in the near future?

Event Timeline

Ehm. It's a delicate one. Let's set this back for a couple of weeks at least as it's a highly disruptive change that needs much testing. Even 219 broke on us in the past.

Shall I leave this here open for you to grab when you feel the timing to be right and move parent task to "waiting for fixes"?

@curantes Yea, I think upgrading systemd is certainly an item that should be tracked. I'll sort out the triaging bits :)

For info, systemd 233 was released a few hours ago

Let's do this *after* the snapshot as there is less to bork and worry about.

systemd update may help me with NAS automount/autodismount issues.

Thanks,

Holy sh-t, I didn't know systemd hasn't been updated in about 3 years and some spare change.

218 was released in 2014?

Having tested out a few other current distros, Solus is quite dated in it's version.

GM

We know it is, it's intentionally held back and patched, because of the clusterfuck of woes that awaits us post upgrade.

Gotchya boss.

As always, thanks for all of your hard work.

JoshStrobl claimed this task.

While there may be some changes to be made to systemd, we've upgraded system as of R2999:ffb2149ca31ae484822750ed3f1d21d47457a24c
