Mate edition so far, I've setup using arc red theme and the default cursor for mate. But that's just my setup. As for wallpaper. That's I dunno. So many good options.

I'd stick with the Breeze cursor and Arc Darker GTK theme. I wouldn't add new wallpapers to the ISO, but I'd set another default wallpapers. BogFlower for Solus Budgie and Local Leaf for Solus MATE would be good IMO.

It would help giving a stronger visual identity.

We don't rename other peoples stuff. The GTK theme is Arc, thus it remains Arc. horst3180 created it, not us :)

I personally prefer the Win-8-NS cursor theme, although some people may not be too keen on something that looks like Microsoft's offering.
Note: It's a bit tricky finding the latest version on gnome-look.com, the other versions don't integrate as well, given that there is missing code(?) or something of the sort.

I personally prefer the Adwaita cursor theme. I think it's better to find on black and white backgrounds

I definitely prefer a black cursor with a thicker outline. I found breeze a lot easier to lose especially when using lighter colored themes.

I prefer the DMZ-White cursor theme, particularly on otherwise dark themes. I'm not a fan of how Adwaita is black with a white border on dark backgrounds and white with a black border on light backgrounds. Maybe if it was the other way around, but I'd prefer that my mouse cursor didn't change color at all.

Are there any plans to possibly change icon themes? I'm liking the look of the Papirus theme.

For wallpaper I was thinking maybe BrittasLake or Excl_Focal_Leaf. Leaning toward BrittasLake for MATE and Excl_Focal_Leaf for Budgie, but both work for both if you go through with the idea of unified wallpapers between editions.

I don't think it makes sense to utilize an autumn-themed picture for a snapshot in spring time and I prefer Excl_Focal_Leaf over BrittasLake. The latter lacks focus and is overall an inferior shot.
