Deadbeef not working

Description

Deadbeef won't play at all. When run from terminal, error message is

"ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1029:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
could not open audio device (Device or resource busy)
streamer: failed to start playback (start track)
"

Just installed Deadbeef from software center. Tried to reproduce problem without success. Maybe another program is using a resource deadbeef needs?

That is likely the case. If something else is using alsa directly, then the device is in use. This isn't like pulseaudio where multiple sound applications can use the same sound device at the same time.

That's probably it. It works after I reboot. But if I open Opera and play youtube, deadbeef stops working again even after I close Opera.
