If you use the brightness up and down keys on your laptop, you'll notice that at the low end of the brightness slider, it goes from barely visible to blasting you with light in one single step. Then all the rest of the steps make diminishingly smaller differences. This is probably because it's configured to increase supply current on a linear scale instead of an exponential one. Perhaps this is a platform issue that's beyond the scope of Solus, but it would be great if something could be done about it because I've seen this behavior on a number of different platforms.
