I think that comment in commit explains itself.
New build process:

  1. Older system dmd is used to build new dmd
  2. New dmd is used to rebuild itself

This is sufficient for patterns (ypkg determines fallback policy itself)

patterns   :
    - /usr/include/*
    - /usr/lib64/*
