gPodder does not detect network connection when trying to update podcasts
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Package: gpodder

gPodder does not detect a network connection when trying to update podcasts.

Problem is as described in this bug report:
https://bugs.gpodder.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1730

The solution I found in Solus is according to comment #8 of the bug report, which is to create a link in /usr/bin to /sbin/ip

This looks like solution, but after creating such symlink (sudo ln -s /sbin/ip /usr/bin/ip) all other programs lost network connection. I can't load any www sites, can't connect to any other internet server or service. After removing symlink everything start working properly (except gpodder).

So we'll need to patch this to use a proper path. Ideally, they shouldn't use ip to determine when there is a network connection, mehwell. Assigning to @ikey because cba to touch python.
