Just in case anyone is interested Freecad now has an appimage that works on Solus

The freecad AppImage is currently down. Any update on when freecad will be available in Solus natively?

@teedeeus if you go to their GitHub page you can still download the appimage for 0.16 and the appimage for their development release 0.17. It probably won't land till 0.17 has become stable.

@simniotiqu I can share what I did already

• freecad - work in progress
• med
• openmpi (I did not check if it works with the version that is currently in the repo)
• You'll need pyside2/sheboken2 but since it is still under development. This is to be discussed with the team, especially since it could be interesting for T6074.

@simniotiqu How is this coming along? If you need help packing and testing it there is a lot of people who would love to get this in the repo, so I (and possibly others) would be more than willing to help.

Not much admittedly.
Looked into making a pyside2 package with the git source so if the release happens we can hit the ground running. But it looks like they have a qt 5.9 and qt 5.11 branch that doesn't play nice with qt 5.10 in the solus repo (as far as I know might be wrong). I'm on the pyside2 mailing list so if something changes I try again.

Version 0.18 is released. Can someone try their luck with this version?
