We're a desktop operating system. This should be deployed on a server, not a desktop.

I didn't think it was a problem since plex is in 3rd party? On top of it, I'm a home user who can't afford a separate computer just to have plex/emby installed on it. Right now my media server is my desktop running Solus with plex. (This might come off a little rude, but please don't take it so. What ever your end choice is I'll accept it)

I have the same problem as BearzR, this software is just like Plex so I don't understand why it can't be in the repo, I hope you will reconsider.

This has sat in accepted for inclusion for over a year. Clearly, there is a lack of demand for the inclusion of this software, nobody has stepped up to provide a patch, maintain it, and properly integrate it. Closing as a result. Feel free to reopen but only when someone offers a patch via our proper patch submission methods and volunteers to be maintainer.

I can think of any reason why making a program closed source would make it accepted for inclusion, but please correct me if I am wrong...

The third party repo is deprecated in won’t see any added packages to the list.

Jellyfin would be a sufficient replacement / accepted alternative to Emby, should someone decide to package it.

Jelly fin isn't that good cause it lacks mobile app
Emby now is in the state like plex
The problem with plex is that with slight Internet speed fluctuating,it loses connection to plex servers
And u can't turn off transcoding for users unlike in emby u can
But then again
There's no one to package it

Ooo ok
Didn't knew the third party section is still off :(
