Are you using a machine with hybrid graphics? I believe this is a known issue for machines with hybrid graphics when you try to install the binary driver.

Looks like it is hybrid. How do I know (when buying one) if they machine is using a hybrid card?
When a laptop has an nvidia card and an intel cpu, you end up with two cards because the intel chip brings a gpu right? Is that hybrid?

Since there's no way to estimate when optimus support will come in solus, and it could be months, I think I'm screwed with this machine. And I have two of them :(
