Need to take a look at why jackd isn't starting for me.

jackd is not starting for me either:

 pasuspender -- jackd
jackd 0.124.1
Copyright 2001-2009 Paul Davis, Stephane Letz, Jack O'Quinn, Torben Hohn and others.
jackd comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY
This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it
under certain conditions; see the file COPYING for details

JACK is running in realtime mode, but you are not allowed to use realtime scheduling.

After applying these changes, please re-login in order for them to take effect.

You don't appear to have a sane system configuration. It is very likely that you
encounter xruns. Please apply all the above mentioned changes and start jack again!

I followed the steps here: http://www.jackaudio.org/faq/linux_rt_config.html

1 - added a realtime group and added my user there
2 - added
@realtime - rtprio 99
@realtime - memlock unlimited

to file /etc/security/limits.d/99-realtime.conf

3 - Logout and back in

@DataDrake Anything that relies on "pkgconfig(fluidsynth)" now fails, and "fluidsynth" does not replace it. calf-plugins, specifically.

I'm guessing you caught the index getting rebuild. It should be fine, but you might need to force an index update with sudo eopkg ur.
