What does this offer that Gnome Twitch doesn't?

Better GUI that is simpler to navigate, stuff that actually works (subscriptions, notifications, etc.), great configuration options (cause it's based around Livestreamer), ability to output stuff to different players (mpv, VLC, etc.), to play several streams at once, etc.

It's superior to GNOME Twitch in many ways really, that's why I switched to it.

JoshStrobl moved this task from Backlog to Accepted For Inclusion on the Package Requests board.

Please be noted that livestreamer-twitch-gui has been renamed to streamlink-twitch-gui as it now uses the livestreamer fork streamlink as livestreamer doesn't seem to be maintained any more.

You can find the project here: https://github.com/streamlink/streamlink-twitch-gui

I'm unsure whether to create a new package request for this.

Nah, you shouldn't make a new one.

Honestly this was predictable since livestreamer by this point is pretty much dead.

Has anybody been working on this? I've been scratching my head over this.

this app uses nwjs (basically electron alternative) which requires xserver to build from source, streamlink-twitch-gui's travis uses xvfb to create a virtual x server to allow the app to build. Unless i'm missing something i don't think it possible currently to build this within solbuild as its difficult to run x apps in a chroot enviroment anyway, and solbuild unsets $DISPLAY env before building.

Here's my (obviously incomplete) package.yml if anyone wants to take a look.

So unless i'm missing something, for the time being this should be packaged the from offical releases instead of source.
