A4TECH and some Logitech devices are detected as the gamepads
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

On most of the Linux distributions A4Tech and some Logitech mice are recognised as the gamepads. Because of this every game with controller support thinks that the mouse is the gamepad which is for some reason moving left or down forever so it is impossible to select anything in the menus.

The workaround for A4TECH is actually pretty simple: you should add this rule to /etc/udev/rules.d to automatically remove the driver on start:

SUBSYSTEM=="input", ATTRS{name}=="*A4TECH*", ATTRS{phys}=="*/input0", RUN+="/usr/bin/rm /dev/input/%k"

I think it may be problematic for Logitech since they also make the gamepads. Still, it would be nice to just get rid of the problem to never think about it ever again.
