q4wine creates empty categories in Budgie Menu
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Trying out q4wine, and noticed that it creates 3 new categories in the Budgie menu. They are:

  • q4wine

^ which is empty

  • default

^ also empty

  • system

which contains all of the different tools and options contained within the q4wine program itself (so a bit redundant)

Is this an intended effect?

Event Timeline

I am unable to replicate this. Are you sure your system is up to date?

@DataDrake

I believe so. The software center says 'Software up to Date', even after pressing the 'check for updates' button. And using sudo eopkg up in the terminal also shows it to be up-to-date.

Josh also couldn't replicate the bug I was having in Krita, so I think these issues are localized to just my machine.

I haven't received any updates for the past few days, so I hadn't been able to try out any of the programs you've been packaging. I had assumed I would receive them with the next major release. Should I have actually been receiving updates in this time?

Should I have actually been receiving updates in this time?

By now, most certainly. Is this an issue on a fresh install @Commander-Zal?

I'm afraid I still haven't re-installed Solus on the offending desktop. I did just test it on my laptop, and q4wine seems to work fine on it, with no new categories in the menu. :)
