Window content freezes after specific behavior
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

I think I mentioned this before on the Community, but I don't remember what the consensus was. I found that when highlighting text past the edge of the terminal in NetBeans, the system gets completely messed up where Firefox, Chrome, and a few other apps like Shotcut don't update window contents until resizing the window. Restarting make everything work again.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install NetBeans C++ (their jar installer works fine)
  2. Create a new C++ Application
  3. Write incoherent code that creates an error, and when compiling, highlight the error to the right, past the edge of the window. The system should freeze for a few seconds.
  4. Firefox should now behave weird and if not, try step 3 again.

Note: I cannot replicate this behavior using NetBeans on other distros.

Event Timeline

Oh wait, is this to do with Budgie (for the GitHub issue tracker) or more Solus core? I was assuming it wasn't budgie because the whole system froze.

This could be a problem with only NetBeans C++ screwing something up. I'm pretty sure this issue could be related to Budgie more than Solus, someone should test to see if Solus MATE is affected by this to see if Solus is the cause

@Wolfgange3311999 Please verify if this is a Budgie specific issue (test against current Budgie after updates and check with MATE). Thanks.
