Chrome segfaulting
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Here is the error: [1653:1680:1019/115500:ERROR:ssl_client_socket_impl.cc(1168)] handshake failed; returned -1, SSL error code 1, net_error -101
Segmentation fault (core dumped). Chrome will crash about once every 10 minutes.

Currently on Chrome version 54.0.2840.59

Event Timeline

All i have to do is open chrome and wait for the seg fault to occur. It's only happened since I updated to 1.2.1. Also I tried uninstalling as well as deleting the cache and config. That had no effect.

This seems to have been fixed with the most recent updates sent out a few hours ago that included the upgrade to kernel 4.8.3. This may been a bug in the kernel but I have no idea as to why only chrome would be affected. I am going to go ahead and close the task now.

Nevermind. Just happened again. Reopening.

Here is another error being thrown.

[7047:7075:1021/011451:ERROR:nss_util.cc(809)] After loading Root Certs, loaded==false: NSS error code: -8018

Seems to be resolved.
